Annual Passengers: 11.5 million

Economic Impact:
As Kansas City grows, it needed an airport to match. On February 28, 2023, the new single terminal opened to the public, replacing the three older terminals. At just over one million square feet, the Kansas City International Airport Single Terminal is the largest single infrastructure project in the City’s history. With 39 gates and the ability to expand to 50 in the future, the project also includes a 6,300-space parking structure. The new terminal building project alone supported over 5,000 construction jobs while working with more than 100 women and minority-owned businesses. The new MCI will have a profound economic impact on the region in the form of new jobs and opportunities for local and small businesses. Above all, the new terminal offers an innovative and first-class traveler experience for all airport users.
